FABIO: CARDIFF CITY CAREER EXAMINED

Brazilian fullback Fabio da Silva spent the 2012/13 season on loan at London team Queens Park Rangers (QPR) while he was still a Manchester United. It was his first time away from the Red Devils having spent some years at Old Trafford on the back of his move from Fluminensein his native Brazil. Fabio da Silva signed his first professional contract at Manchester United.

After one year at QPR, Fabio returned to Manchester United, but he hardly got playing time under new manager David Moyes. He made just three appearances under Moyes before being sold to Welsh club Cardiff  City. His last Manchester United appearance came during the home defeat to Welsh team Swansea City in the FA Cup third round in January 2014. Fabio da Silva came on for the injured Rio Ferdinand on 75 minutes before he was sent off three minutes later for a foul on Jose Canas with the scores at 1-1. Swansea City then scored on the stroke of full-time to ensure that Manchester United exited the FA Cup  at the third round stage for the second time in 28 attempts.

FABIO: NATIONAL TEAM CAREER UNVEILED

Fabio da Silva started his Brazilian national team career at the Under-17 level and he went on to captain the team to the 2007 FIFA u-17 World Cup tournament in South Korea. Fabio da Silva was thehighest scorer at the tournament in South Korea for the Brazilian team with three goals.

Brazil started their campaign in South Korea with the Group B clash with New Zealand. Fabio da Silva was one of the scorers as Brazil hit New Zealand for seven without any reply from them. He scored the fourth goal of the game five minutes into the second half.The Brazilians then thumped North Korea 6-1 with Fabio getting two of the goals. The ex-Fluminense of Brazil player scored the opener and the third goal as he led his country to a second successive big win in the group. For their final group game, Brazil came unstuck against the English team as they were beaten 2-1 despite taking the lead through Tales on 19 minutes. Henri Lansbury and Jordan Spence scored the final minute of the first half and second half respectively to win the game.

FABIO: UNITED MAJOR HONOURS UNVEILED

Brazilian defender Fabio da Silva won two trophies during his time as a Manchester United player. Fabio was in the Manchester United squad that won the Community Shield in 2010. He was given a start as Manchester United beat Chelsea 3-1 to win the Community Shield.

 

Fabio da Silva was on the pitch for 72 minutes of that Community Shield clash with the Blues before Chris Smalling took his place. FABIO REVEALS DEALING WITH DOUBLE TRAGEDY

Nantes fullback Fabio da Silva has revealed how he dealt with the double tragedy suffered in an exclusive interview with Wales Online. The double tragedy suffered by Fabio da Silva was feltworldwide. His former club, Cardiff City suffered two big losses with the deaths of striker Emiliano Sala and midfielder Peter Whittingham in the space of 18 months.

Argentine attacker Sala was at the peak of his career when he moved to Cardiff City from Nantes in a £15m deal. He lost his life after his plane crashed while on the way to Cardiff to complete his transfer. For Whittingham, the midfielder became a proper Cardiff City legend before he died last year.

MANCHESTER UNITED: FABIO REVEALS RONALDO IMPACT

Nantes fullback Fabio da Silva has revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo helped him settle into first team duties at Manchester United. Fabio da Silva and the Juventus forward were teammates at the Theatre of Dreams before he moved to Real Madrid in a then world-record transfer in 2009. Madrid paid £80m to sign the Portuguese player from English football.

Fabio da Silva talked about Ronaldo in a chat with ESPN. According to him, Ronaldo was a big help to him and his twin brother, Rafael da Silva. He spoke Portuguese and that helped the two Brazilian players as they were able to communicate with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Fabio also said the Juventus talisman gave them nonstop advice on and off the pitch to help them settle into their new surroundings.

Fabio da Silva regretted that he should have been more determined and focused when he was at the Theatre of Dreams. The Brazilian fullback didn’t take his United career and he paid dearly for it. His twin brother, Rafael da Silva had a longer career at Old Trafford and also played more minutes despite the fact that he can only play as a right-back unlike Fabio who can feature either as a left-back or as a right-back.

WHY I OWE SIR ALEX – FABIO

Nantes defender Fabio da Silva has said that he owes legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for the impact he made on his career as a professional footballer. He made this known during an exclusive interview with the Manchester Evening News (MEN). According to him, Sir Alex Ferguson looked after him and his brother Rafael da Silva when they signed for the Red Devils as teenagers over a decade ago.


Fabio da Silva and Rafael da Silva both signed for Manchester United at the same time after they were spotted at a youth tournament. Fabio da Silva said Sir Alex Ferguson is a fantastic person as he thanked him for what the Scot did for him, his brother Rafael and his family. ARSENAL AND NAPOLI BATTLE FOR LEFTBACK

Arsenal are said to be in a close battle with Italian side Napoli for Celtic right back Kieran Tierney according to reports from England. The Celtic defender had been the subject of two bids from the Gunners already which had been rejected.

It is understood that an initial bid of £15 million and a subsequent bid of £20 million had been turned down by the Scottish giants. it is understood that Italian giants Napoli have become the latest club to be linked with a move to for the player as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of next season.
